BRO. RAYNARD EDGECOMBE (Brother State President)

Honorable, Bro. Raynard Martin Edgecombe, is the ninth (9th) President of the Bahamas State Association of Elks of the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World. He joined Reuben G. Knowles Lodge #1760 in July, 2010 and was elected Exalted Ruler in December, 2011 serving with distinction until 2015.  He is a member of the Ivan E. Wallace, Past Exalted Rulers Council, and the Immediate Past President of the George W. Bullard, Past State President’s Council. He has served the Bahamas State Association in many capacities and levels; Director of Public Relations and Communication, Assistant Director of Training and Development; 2nd and 3rd Vice President of the Bahamas State Association. Brother Edgecombe was selected the 2018-19 Elk of the Year for the Reuben G. Knowles Lodge. This honor was bestowed upon him because of his commitment to the cardinal principles of charity, justice, brotherly love and fidelity and how these were translated into his everyday living. His election to the Presidency of the State Association signaled a new era in Elkdom in The Bahamas. His vision for the Elks includes expanded membership, community outreach and a deeper commitment of the membership to the tenants of the order.  In addition, he is a Past Worshipful Master of Levi Lodge # 543 – Mecca Grand Lodge, Modern Free & Accepted Masons of the World Inc. Brother Edgecombe, who is employed in the finance department of the Atlantis Resort,  was born November 3rd 1987. He is the father of two children and worships with the faith community at Rhema International Family Development Center.

DAUGHTER CECELIA COOPER (Daughter State President)

Daughter Cecelia Cooper has been member of the Elks Organization for more that 55 years. She joined the Elks Organization as a Juvenile having served as Daughter Ruler of Excelsior Juvenile class #56. She became the 1st Female President of the Elks Youth club and participated in many State and National events. At age 18 she transferred into Excelsior Temple # 37, the mother temple of the daughters of Elks in the Bahamas, while maintaining membership of the A.A. Perpall Youth Council. Daughter Cooper has held many offices in the temple including Assistant Daughter Ruler and joined various Departments of Elks at the State level including fund raising, For her dedication she was elevated to the Euterpie Johnson Past Daughter Council, the Past State President’s Council and in 1983, the Past Grand Daughter’s Council. Later she became the Deputy Supervisor for the Junior and Juvenile Departments in the Bahamas and District Deputy for the family Islands Temples. At the State Level she became a Trustee, Treasurer and in 2002 President of the Bahamas State Association and serves as the 2nd Vice President of the National Presidents Council. Dgt. Cooper has dedicated her life to the organization she is a proud mother of 3 boys. A devoted member of Christ the King Anglican Church. Her Motto.. If I can help Somebody along the way then my Living will not be in vain. And to be a servant for the people
